Oomph Experience Retreat, Ibiza 2017
We had a great time on this small personal development retreat. Here are some reflections:
This retreat was very special. I intended that participants would have a beautiful, life-enriching experience, with the opportunity to reconnect with their inner selves, have fun, and discover how to sustain that sense of ease, lightness, freedom and joy, long after the retreat had ended, whatever might be going on in their lives. Also to relax, reflect and if necessary, to find clarity. It was beautiful to witness this happening as the week went on.
One of the really special things was having the luxury of TIME. Time to just 'be', to have fun, to embrace empowering Oomphwork exercises and learn to de-stress whilst basking in a beautiful, sun-drenched and relaxing environment, where all our daily needs were catered for.
I loved making myself available for one-to-one sessions too. This gave the group plenty of downtime, to potter off to the beach or shops, chat, or just to lounge around the pool and reflect.
We stayed at Hycienda Morna, a beautiful, cool and spacious villa near Santa Eularia des Riu on the South East coast. It was the perfect place for this retreat. The setting was stunning - lush tropical gardens, orange and lemon trees, ornamental fish ponds, a swimming pool, fountains, ample terraces and quiet outdoor areas.
Early in the morning, the roof terrace was a favourite place to enjoy pre-breakfast sessions, then we moved to shady, open areas as the sun grew really hot. Sometimes we ventured out together (we could walk to the local beach), and we spent a day exploring the island. We usually had a short Oomphwork session after a leisurely dinner – sometimes this involved making music together – and then flopped into our (extaordinarliy comfortable) beds.
We were made so welcome, and the food was exquisite – beautifully presented, fresh and vegan. In fact it was so delicious that some of us had cravings for some time afterwards!
I'm thankful to everyone who was associated with this retreat. All in all, this was a precious and wonderful time.
